Hiking in Sedona

Sedona is a top destination for hikers. Hitting the trail and being surrounded by other-worldly rock formations is something you can only do in this part of the country. The red rock buttes and cliff faces astound first-timers and locals alike with their sheer scale and beauty.

There are plenty of pet-friendly hikes in this area, so grab your four-legged bestie and head out. No matter what your hiking level, you’ll definitely want to check out Bell Rock. This iconic red rock formation is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Sedona and it’s especially beautiful (and popular) at sunset.

The Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte Loop trails are just under 4 miles and happen to be some of the most dog-friendly hiking trails in Sedona. This trail gives you direct access to the Bell Rock formation and the beautiful views of Red Rock.

Another popular hiking trail is the Devil’s Bridge. It’s a relatively easy 2-mile round-trip hike, and you’ll be rewarded with some beautiful views and the ultimate Instagram-worthy photo.

Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the unrivaled views while you nosh on some local delicacies. Make sure you and your pup have a good supply of water and that Rover has a sturdy harness because the trails can be slippery at times. The best time for hiking in this area is March to November.  Stay at our House of Kokopellis & Cowboys & there is a trail right out your front door!

Sedona Energy Vortexes

You don’t have to be a new-age guru to enjoy the spiritual energy that gives Sedona its distinctive vibe. The city is known as a spiritual center, particularly for its energy vortexes. A vortex can be described as a swirling center of energy that is conducive to healing, meditation, and self-exploration.

These are places where the earth seems incredibly alive with energy. Many people feel inspired, recharged, or uplifted after visiting a vortex. Sedona boasts seven vortexes that each have a different kind of energy.

If you want to go big, visit the Chapel of the Holy Cross vortex, which is said to be the strongest and brings feelings of inspiration and joy. The Chapel located at this site is worth a trip just to see the unusual building rising out of the rocks and is among Sedona’s top tourist attractions.

Another vortex worth checking out is the Bell Rock Sedona vortex. The energy it radiates is intense and is said to balance mind, body, and soul due to the immense quartz crystals that lie underneath the site. Consider a day trip with a local tour guide that can offer their expertise and ensure that you get the most out of your time in these mystical magical places.
