It’s the vibrant decor that sets the pirate scene! Anticipate sleek designs, period furnishings, and rich dark color schemes; black, burgundy, gold, crimson, and royal purple. This enchanting-themed beach home is perfect for families, large groups, multi-family vacations, reunions, corporate retreats, etc. Welcome pirates, privateers, buccaneers, wenches, and scurvy dogs!

Living:

The bright, coastal-style, open design of this living/kitchen/dining area with high ceilings, gives the home an inviting ambiance and makes for easy entertaining. The living area has hardwood floors, a richly colored Persian-style carpet, a huge, royal purple, velvet sectional sofa enhanced with vibrant throw pillows, and two luxurious Chesterfield armchairs in black leather. Behind the sofa, a wall of windows is adorned with crimson and black swag valance curtains with Baroque designs.

Envision gathering here for family game nights, cozying up on this velvet sofa to read Treasure Island as a bedtime story to the kids, or stream Pirates of the Caribbean. The SmartTV is mounted across the room on a rustic, shiplap accent wall, which adds texture and character to the home, resembling the hull of a wooden galleon. French doors from the living/dining room lead out to the deck and dazzling coastal views.

Off this main floor is a business office, with a French Rococo-style work desk, and desk chairs upholstered in canary-yellow velvet.

Kitchen/Dining:

The fully-equipped chef’s kitchen has crisp white cabinets, quartz countertops, and state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances including a French door fridge/freezer with icemaker, a gas cooktop, oven, a microwave, a French Farmhouse style sink, and a dishwasher. A Keurig and drip coffee maker are both provided, as well as a blender, toaster, and chef’s caliber sharp cutlery. A polished copper pendant lamp and copper cookware add maritime charm to the kitchen. Between the kitchen and dining area is an extraordinary, rustic, built-in, floor-to-ceiling wine rack, where you can store your rum, grog, and bottled beverages.

The elegant, Rococo-style dining table is a vintage piece with Hollywood history. The table, purchased at auction, was used in the original movie “The Road to Wellville” starring Anthony Hopkins, Matthew Broderick, Bridgett Fonda, Dana Carvey, and John Cusack! This period table is adorned with candelabras and seats up to twelve guests in velvet-upholstered Rococo-style chairs.

If the weather is nice, you may also choose to dine al fresco, on either the balcony or covered deck.

Bedrooms & Baths:

Seas the Day offers six bedrooms and three full baths. There are 2 king bedrooms, 3 queen bedrooms, and 1 room with 3 twin beds, for a total of 8 beds and 13 guests allowed.

Every bedroom has a unique pirate theme, as well as silent ceiling fans and SmartTVs. Each bed offers a luxury mattress and premium linens for a restful night’s sleep. Sliding glass doors from four of the six bedrooms open out to the tranquil balcony/covered deck with dazzling views of the Atlantic.

These elegant bedrooms feature enchanting details such as, a huge Chesterfield-style sleigh bed in King bedroom #1, Moroccan-style hanging lanterns, silver filigree wall sconces, Persian-style area rugs in rich, warm hues, wall art including treasure maps, sailing charts, and even a vintage marine chronometer, antique trunks and treasure chests, French Rococo style furnishings, and large picture windows adorned with sheer or lace curtains in hues of black, gold, crimson and plum.

The sparkling clean, spa-like bathrooms feature granite countertops, brushed copper fixtures, large, well-lit mirrors, sleek, white-tiled walk-in showers, and dreamy oversized jacuzzi soaking tubs. Bathrooms are stocked with bath towel sets, as well as toiletries and hair dryers.

There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer, as well as an iron & ironing board.

Game Room & Outdoor Amenities:

Outdoor amenities are a highlight of this pirate lair! Relax on a chaise lounge chair on the second-floor deck or third-floor balcony of “Seas the Day.” The salty breeze is scented with honeysuckle, wisteria, and Carolina jessamine. Fresh air and sounds of the surf will lower your blood pressure, make you glad to be alive, and help you to readjust your internal clock to “island time”!

Gaze out over an iconic seaside town, pristine beaches, and shimmering blue Atlantic ocean. Three hundred years ago, you might have glimpsed just the top sail of Blackbeard’s infamous pirate ship, lurking in the distance, behind palm fronds on the opposite shore. (Thus the namesake, Topsail Island.) Today, however, only lore and legend remain.

It is said that Blackbeard buried a treasure of gold in what is called the Gold Hole on Topsail Island. If the lore of pirates intrigues you, visit the Missiles and More Museum to learn more! Bring along shovels and metal detectors for the kids; let them search the beaches for buried treasure.

Beautiful sandy beaches are just a three-minute stroll. This property is situated in the third row of homes set back from the beach. Give your family the carefree, seaside vacation from your own childhood memories. Surf City has been a prized destination for generations of vacationers. This is a safe, bicycle and pedestrian-friendly area for the family to explore.

This three-story beach home has covered deck areas, as well as open-air alfresco dining options, off both the main kitchen/living/dining space on the second floor and bedrooms on the third floor. Prepare lobster rolls, seafood tacos, corn on the cob, potato salad, or farmer’s market fresh summertime fruit salad. Add a bowl of chips, homemade guacamole, an icy pitcher of margaritas, and glasses garnished with salt and lime! Serve up a gourmet meal, alfresco in the sea breeze!

The ground/first-floor level features a driveway with covered parking, a game room, a courtyard area with a hot tub, and a covered dining area with a patio table. The hot tub is such a peaceful place to unwind and stargaze at night! Enjoy midnight snacks or cocktails at the patio table beside the hot tub.

The game room has foosball, a small game table made from a rustic whiskey barrel, a large wooden pedestal game table for cards or puzzles, and a seating area with royal-purple velvet sofas. There’s an additional full-size fridge in the game room, where you can store your pirate grog! You’ll find plenty of beach chairs, sand toys, kid gear, and games in the game room. There’s also a pack & play, high chair, booster seat, and some pet-friendly linens.

The living space offers an open-concept design with a large, fully equipped kitchen ready for you to prepare & enjoy any meal you can dream of. With ample counter space, a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, drip coffee pot, tea kettle, & all cookware, bakeware, & utensils, cooking for a crowd is an easy task.
When the meal is either finished or received, there is plenty of seating in the formal dining room at the elegant 14-top dining table.

This area has been consistently voted as one of the most family-friendly seaside vacation destinations on the East Coast! Sign up for ecological tours, educational excursions, or sunset cruises. Visit the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital and Rehabilitation Center and the EMA Touch Tank Aquarium. The Kenneth D. Batts Family Park has a terrific playground for children. Enjoy family fun and recreation at Shipwreck Point Mini-golf!

Seeking rainy day activities? Visit the Surf City Art Museum or Thurston Art Gallery. Walk to seafood restaurants, ice cream parlors, tiki bars, barbecue joints, pretzel stands, donut shops, boutiques, pier, and grocery markets. There is plenty to do here. The restaurants are great!
